Business Services Overview

Administrative Dissolution/Revocation of Authority

 

For Kentucky entities only: to access your reinstatement packet, click the button below, then enter your company name or organization number in the search engine. From your company information page, look under "Printable Forms" to locate the Reinstatement Packet.

Out-of-state entities cannot be reinstated: if you have had your certificate of authority revoked by our office, you may requalify. The links below will direct you to the appropriate form for your company type.

 

   

Business Filings

To register a business entity with the Commonwealth of Kentucky click here.   

Annual Reports are required for most business entities that are registered with the Secretary of State's Office.

Business Records

Business Records is responsible for issuing certificates of existence, authorization and other certificates of fact and for providing certified copies of documents on file with the Secretary of State.

Business Records also authenticates documents intended for use abroad by use of an apostille or authentication.

UCC

The Uniform Commercial Code Division (UCC) serves as the state repository for financing statements regarding security interests.  These financing statements are filed by banks, mortgage companies, and other lending institutions against the secured collateral of individuals and other entities that are located within the state.

The Secretary of State is responsible for filing and maintaining financing statements on secured transactions under Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) as adopted in Kentucky, effective July 1, 2001.

Trademarks/Service Marks

A person who uses a trademark or service mark in this state may file an application with the Office of the Secretary of State for registration of such mark.
